As part of efforts to improve the dignity and worth of workers, instead of manual rikshaws, workers can now drive electric motorized rickshaw-vans in Singra. This is how the rickshaw pullers and van drivers of Singra have become smart workers. Cashless tools too will be handed over to them in a few days. Through this, they will be able to get necessary financial loan services in health, education etc. using digital wallet along with savings.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak shared the matter while speaking as the chief guest at the May Day 2024 program held on the theme of 'Workers will build the country, Bangladesh will be smart' by connecting virtually from Dhaka on Wednesday in his constituency.

Nator Zilla Sramik League President Jahangir Alam presided over the event while District Awami League President Advocate Md Ohidur Rahman Sheikh was present as a special guest. Upazila Sramik League General Secretary Ashraful Islam Swapan and others spoke at the event.

While speaking as the chief guest, Palak addressed the workers present at the event and said, "You have given me your votes, love and support with your hard-earned money, labor and time." I may never be able to repay this debt to you. Just one prayer to Allah, so that I can work for the people of my country through my work and labor. We ask for your prayers and cooperation to create smart workers and labor management by giving intellectual, innovative and technological power to the laborer brothers and sisters in building a smart Bangladesh of Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina.

The state minister also said that due to the 300 km paved roads and electricity from house to house, vehicles like motorized rickshaw-vans, easy bikes, three wheelers, nasimons have arrived in Singra. Thousands of young women have been employed. Workers have managed to make an income even in this hot wave by driving electric motorized smart rickshaw-vans.

In the event, rickshaws, vans and sewing machines are distributed among some to turn workers into owners like every year. Umbrellas, caps and water-saline are given to the workers. Member of Parliament Zunaid Ahmed Palak directed the local leaders to install tubewells in Teligram and Jormallika for agricultural laborers by tomorrow.
